The Thompson Flats
Lock 7 completed the Thompson Flats at 2106 10th St in November of 2010. This project was a new construction 4-unit building. Before construction, the site was a vacant lot. The motivation behind the design was to combine historical DC elements with modern elements. For example, the exterior has brick, which is typical to DC rowhomes, but also large glass floor-to-ceiling windows. Inside, Lock 7 mixed ultra-modern high gloss kitchen cabinets with more traditional dark oak floors. The combination was a huge success and the building sold-out within two weeks.
